Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between the M1 and M3 iMac 24''?
Same chassis, new chip. The M3 is ~20–30% faster on CPU and GPU, has hardware-accelerated ray tracing, and supports two external displays. For most users the difference is marginal in everyday use.
What does a screen replacement cost on the iMac 24'' M3?
DKK 4,500–6,500 for a full 4.5K Retina screen — the same display as the M1. See current pricing at macmo.dk/reparation.
Can RAM or SSD be upgraded?
No — both are soldered to the logic board. And because the data on the SSD is encrypted with keys held in the Secure Enclave on the M chip, the SSD cannot be moved to a new board without losing data. So choose the right RAM and SSD size at purchase. If the SSD fails, we do a component-level repair that preserves the M chip and your data.
